Before I started my program with California Family Fitness, I felt (physically): I have never been a "small girl" my whole life. My weight has been a constant battle. Before I moved to Sacramento three years ago, I was that person who bought a gym membership and went a total of two times before I completely forgot about it. My fiancé is a body builder so when we moved to Sac the first thing on his list was find a gym. I decided to start going with him after we joined Cal Fit and really enjoyed our time together after work at the gym. Unfortunately for me just going to the gym and lifting weights was not enough to keep me from gaining weight from all the carbs and mass portions I was enjoying with my bodybuilder boyfriend. I didn't even notice I was gaining weight until I woke up one day and all my clothes were too small. Every picture I had of myself, the camera was "making me look huge" and I was so tired all the time.
I went to the doctor to get tested for anything and everything that could cause my weight gain because surely it wasn't my fault! The results came back that I was completely healthy and there was no medical reason for the weight gain. When I got on the scale at the doctor’s office that was my breaking point. I weighed 211 pounds. I was in disbelief and truly didn't know where to go from there.
The reason why I started my program with California Family Fitness was:
At first I was so disheartened at even starting to lose weight because I had so far to go. I felt there was no light at the end of the tunnel for me. I knew that I didn't want to stay at this weight and so I decided something had to change. I started on my own enlisting advice from some of the trainers and staff I knew at the gym. I started eating clean and started incorporating cardio into all my workouts. To my surprise the weight started falling off. I lost 20 pounds the first month and ten pounds each month for three months after that. The gym became an addiction and a hobby for me. As my weight got lower it got harder and harder to lose. Finally I had to really ask for help so I hired Trevor, a personal trainer at Cal Fit. The sessions Trevor put together for me were so amazing and his knowledge on what to eat and when, helped me so much. The sessions were always fun and it helped me build my coordination and endurance. After just 13 sessions I had dropped 11 pounds!!
Now, I feel:
I feel amazing I have lost a total of 70 pounds and completely changed my life. My life no longer revolves around food and I absolutely love going to the gym. I love all my pictures and I finally feel confident when I walk into a room. I used to be so self conscious. I honestly feel like taking this step was the best thing I have ever done. I'm getting married in four months and dress shopping was actually fun!
Because of the results, I am now confident and so happy! I know that I am in the best shape of my life and never have to miss out of things because of my weight. I can share clothes with my friends and stop always comparing myself to others. I know that I'm the best me I can be and I have come so far from where I started!
I really can't say enough good things about Trevor and the rest of the Cal Fit staff including Ereece for referring me to Trevor and always making it fun! It was worth every single penny I paid to have my life, confidence and health back. Thank you Cal Fit!!
