May is National Bike Month

April showers brought May flowers…and you’ll see more of them if you travel by bike than car! The month of May is National Bike Month. Going strong since 1956, Bike Month is the perfect time to enjoy the benefits of biking, encourage others to give it a try, and take advantage of the many trails that we are lucky to have in the Sacramento region.

Cycling is a terrific addition to any fitness routine. If you need a reason to hop on a bike, consider some of these: you’ll burn calories, improve heart health, build leg muscles, tone your arms and core, and reduce stress. Since cycling is a low impact exercise, it’s perfect for people who are experiencing joint pain or just starting a fitness routine.  Rain or shine, you can get the benefits of biking year round by taking our indoor cycling classes

To celebrate Bike Month and the upcoming Amgen Tour of California, we’re hosting our own Tour of Cal Fit. Each day of the Tour, different clubs will be hosting cycling classes as a “stage” of the Tour of Cal Fit. You can ride in one stage, or race like one of the pros at every stage! Classes are FREE, and all participants will receive a FREE towel and water bottle.

Participants will have the opportunity to win prizes, including Visa gift cards, free membership time, and Garmin watches. Register for a class (or all seven!) on the Cal Fit app.

STEP 1: CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT
Create your account via the Cal Fit Mobile App. 
Registration requires your email address and barcode number 
on the back of your membership card.

STEP 2: GET REGISTERED
Registering for the class reserves your spot and can happen anywhere! 
Using the Cal Fit Mobile App, find the clinic and click ‘Register’.

STEP 3: CHECK-IN!
Are you at the club? Check-in using the Cal Fit Mobile App. 
You can check-in up to two hours before the class starts. 
You have up to 10 minutes before the class starts to save your spot and check-in, or your spot will be given to a waitlisted member.  

Space is limited, so don’t forget to register!
