Meet the Trainer: Martina Villasenor

January 2nd marked an important date for Cal Fit: National Personal Trainer Awareness Day! National Personal Trainer Awareness Day was designed to remind people that professionals are available to help make their promises from their resolutions, a reality. We have exceptional trainers in our clubs that are prepared to help you do just that. This month, we'd like to introduce you to a few of them, starting with Martina Villasenor.

MartinaStrongMartina is a personal trainer at our Rocklin club. Hailing from Hayward, CA, Martina says that she decided to become a trainer "to make an impact on the community by not only educating individuals on how to exercise in the gym, but how to create and maintain healthy habits for life." Always ready to make a difference, Martina believes in sharing good health both inside and outside of the gym. "I consider myself a role model in the fitness community, and am a firm believer in practicing what I preach. If I practice healthy habits, others around me will also practice healthy habits and vice versa."

Martina's favorite pieces of gym equipment are strength bands and the TRX Suspension Trainer. After her own workouts, her favorite post-workout snacks are Greek yogurt and almonds. Along with her love of exercise, Martina is a baseball fan who is known for wearing fabulous knee-high socks.

When asked what she loves most about being a personal trainer, Martina told us, "I love being able to interact with members, and develop connections with the different walks of life. From the youngsters in Child Care, to the seniors on the floor it's never a dull moment at California Family Fitness!"MartinaDancing
